Sean P. Ambrosius

Sean was a partner at Knobbe Martens Olson and Bear LLP for 13 years before joining Via LLP’s partnership in 2026. Before attending UCLA School of Law, he was an IC design engineer for several years, building Ethernet transceiver chips for Solarflare Communications.

He focuses his practice on strategic patent procurement, portfolio management, invalidity and noninfringement opinions, and counseling on infringement, pre-litigation, IP due diligence, and enforcement.

Sean’s industry experience and his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical and computer engineering from UC Santa Barbara give him genuine fluency in his clients’ technologies, which include:

• Integrated circuits such as radio frequency front ends and related components (amplifiers, filters, switches, tuners, etc.), optical and copper Ethernet transceivers, image sensors, and other analog and digital circuitry
